Welcome to your virtual public meeting
| Online voting has now ended. However, you may still review on these pages the information that was made available at the site selection public meetings in October and November. |
Introduction
Eight public meetings have been held across Lancashire during October and November for local people to have their say on possible sites for the county’s four new inpatient mental health units.
What will I find out through the virtual public meeting?
You will be able to:
- learn more about the possible sites for a new mental health unit in your local area
- decide whether, in your view, these sites meet the criteria which local people have said are important when choosing a site
- vote online for possible sites in your area.
What do I need to know before I vote?
Please read the following important information before you cast your votes:
- general information about the Mental health matters improvement programme, which is being presented at all eight public meetings
- local information about the possible sites in the four areas of Lancashire in which a new unit will be built, as follows:
- East Lancashire - Public meetings: October 29
- North Lancashire (Lancaster and Morecambe) - Public meetings: November 7
- North Lancashire (Blackpool, Wyre and Fylde) - Public meetings: November 14
- Central Lancashire - Public meetings: November 20
- site selection criteria – when you are ready to vote, having read all the background information, you will be asked the same seven questions about each site – these are the seven criteria that local people have told us are most important to them when choosing a site. Their views have been expressed over the past 18 months during formal public consultation and also at involvement and engagement meetings.
Click here to read about the seven criteria for choosing sites on which you will be asked to vote.
Please note: there are three more mandatory criteria which the Board of Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust must take into account when making its decision. These extra criteria require technical knowledge so you will not be asked to vote on them.
What is the last date for voting online?
You can vote right up to and including November 30, 2007.
