Media Briefings
May 2007
Mental health matters was launched by the trust on Thursday, May 31, 2007, with a briefing to which all the county’s media organisations were invited. The briefing marked the beginning of a wide-ranging communications programme through which every effort is being made to capture the views of all those with an interest in mental health inpatient services in Lancashire. The comments and opinions of everyone from staff, people who use the trust's services and carers to voluntary organisations, primary care trusts and the general public are absolutely vital in helping to shape the future of Lancashire’s mental health inpatient services.
Trust Chief Executive, Finlay Robertson, led the first media briefing on Thursday May 31, joined by Professor Max Marshall, Medical Director, and Maggie Stainton, Director of Human Resources and Organisational Development. Together they explained the next steps in the trust’s plans to enhance mental health inpatient services, which began with a period of statutory public consultation between March 24 and July 14, 2006.
